Efficient condensing unit driven by an electronic control unit and an inverter.
Description
The REINEU project created an efficient condensing unit driven by an electronic control unit and an inverter. The operation of the compressor on road is able to directly refrigerate the eutettic evaporator and an additional charge if needed is obtained more efficiently. This system integrates the original charge of cooling energy arising from the electricity grid which takes place when the vehicle is stationary. The eutectic solutions contained in the evaporators which constitute the cold reserve, have been analyzed in order improve the cooling performance and reduce the quantity of eutettic evaporators so lightening the overall system. With a dedicated remote control device, monitoring the body’s operating parameters, it is possible to set up or change some settings remotely. This system was installed and tested on an isothermal trial body to obtain a lighter and more efficient result to maintain the right temperature during the delivery service.

The operation of the refrigeration unit is unique on the market and, once engineered to adapt to a circulating body, it would be an innovation for temperature-controlled distribution companies of perishable foods. It can be a hybrid alternative between eutectic bodies charged with latent energy and ventilated refrigeration units powered by mechanical energy from a heat engine. The possibility of associating a modem for remote control of the body offers more data and security for companies interested in fleet management. Finally, all analyses and tests conducted on the demonstrator have allowed to collect data to work on the development of company products in the future, continuing to comply with progressively more stringent regulations and aiming for energy saving.

Technologies used: The creation of the demonstrator made it possible to optimize the refrigeration technology of the refrigerated body through the integration and use of an innovative condensing unit. All this is checked during tests with a modem device for transmitting and receiving data.
