SPAS4S
Risk prevention in the working environment.
Description
The project aims to respond to some known critical issues for risk prevention in the working environment.
Thanks to the proposed project, active monitoring of personal protective equipment (PPE) within factories was extended to the entire cycle of operators’ work activities and within the life cycle of the PPE.
The monitoring took place through the detection of PPE at specific points in the factory and during precise operational phases: PPE procurement (phase 1), PPE collection (phase 2), access to the work area (phase 3), activity in the work area (phase 4), PPE return (phase 5).
The active monitoring part for phases 1, 2 and 5 was implemented by the distributors/collectors already in the catalogue of the lead partner LANZI. The project developed the parts related to phases 3 and 4 to implement the complete PPE active monitoring system.
A wireless and smart electronic and IT system was developed.
Result to be enhanced
At the end of the project, Lanzi was able to expand its product portfolio and, in the backdrop of the growing urgency for effective occupational safety measures, also benefit from an important return in terms of reputation.
Significant spin-offs in terms of visibility and positioning on the national and international market and a relative increase in the existing customer base and turnover (reaching € 14.4 million by the end of 2022) were expected and indeed occurred.
Why is it important?
The project was important first and foremost to mitigate the risk of accidents in the workplace by raising awareness among partner and client companies.
