Remote Interactive Advanced Support

Description

R.I.A.S. is a platform capable of optimising and facilitating support and maintenance interventions, enabling remote visits and introducing specialised devices for optical investigation, with the aim of increasing the quality and reducing the time and cost of a technical assistance intervention on a device.
It provides a ‘Kit’ containing specialised physical devices (e.g. endoscopes, microscopes, thermal cameras,…) and dedicated software modules.
The system can be used with different types of devices (smartglasses, tablets, smartphones, desktops) and, thanks to different modes of communication and interaction, also allows access to knowledge bases and interactive video instructions.

Result to be enhanced

Starting from the basic kit designed and realised through the RIAS project, the product has been constantly enriched, both in functionality and in the type of devices integrated in the platform.
The product is applicable in various sectors of the manufacturing supply chain and in multiple after-sales areas or processes.

Why is it important?

The aim is to be able to tackle the issue of technical assistance with a ‘4.0’ approach and bring to the market an exclusive product capable of supporting any type of remote inspection/repair work, avoiding both long ‘downtimes’ and non-productive or environmentally unfriendly travel (car, plane, etc.).
This usually leads to an increase in the quality of work and sometimes, even indirectly, to an increase in production.
