Description

OR.I.ONE is an integrated system designed to support the safe and autonomous mobility of visually impaired individuals, based on the use of radio transmission infrastructures using the LoRaWAN protocol and IoT communication systems.
The system, intended for urban mobility, can interact with the disabled person and provide them with geolocation information and orientation assistance through devices connected wirelessly to an IoT Smart City network. Without interfering with the sensory system already used to compensate for the user’s deficit, OR.I.ONE operates through an intelligent wearable device that, communicating with a dedicated app, guides the user in autonomous “navigation” towards their destination via “directional” vibrations.

The OR.I.ONE system can help in the creation of a solid basis for:

• The improvement of the effectiveness of existing services, increasing their perceived value by the customer (visually impaired)
• The development of new service and business models that base their value on the analysis of data and/or the direct exploitation of data
• The increase in the efficiency of the company’s internal processes with the strengthening of synergies and relations with suppliers, stakeholders, customers; while optimising the costs of the services offered.
• The increase of specialised employment
  In this way, the project supports the responses to the challenges imposed by the changes in society, using technological innovation in the field of ‘well-being’ for citizens.

Why is it important?

The project’s implementation has placed Elsynet in a position to open up new paths of business development by increasing its competitiveness: thanks to the technology used, LoRaWan, and the integration of smart systems dialogue, it will be able to propose itself to the market for the delivery of new services and functionalities with high technological added value for citizens, without any exclusion.
