MyC-Plus
Traceability of concrete specimens made on site
Description
Digitisation of the process of traceability and quality certification of concrete specimens made on site.
Implementation of an IoT – Internet of Things system, equipped with smart sensors capable of detecting the parameters of interest of the concrete mix, acquiring the data and sending them to the dedicated APP. The TAG detects, via GPS, the sampling location and tracks its movement: the system is equipped with an anti-counterfeiting device. The data detected by the TAG is sent, via an ad hoc communication protocol, to the APP which returns the data entered by the laboratory technician or concrete technologist who performed the sampling. The system guarantees public and private clients that the specimens submitted for laboratory testing are exactly those made on site.
Result to be enhanced
This is the first IoT system within the construction industry that tracks the process of taking and handling concrete specimens, assuring Construction Management and Inspectors about the quality of what is being placed.
Why is it important?
Transforming the world of controls in the construction sector from a craft process to an industrial process with a 4.0 perspective; raising the quality standards of a sector that is important both for the Italian economy and for the impact on the health and safety of citizens and works.
