PIEMONTE INNOVATION CLUSTERS’ REGIONAL SYSTEM

Activities, services and opportunities to accelerate the impact of research & innovation regional policies

The regional Innovation Clusters started their activities in 2009, when Piemonte, first region in Italy, chose to invest in collaborative innovation.

Since then, the Innovation Clusters have grown to the point of including 1200 companies and all the universities and research centres. The innovation clusters have supported in time more than 1300 collaborative innovation projects co-founded by the Piemonte Regional Authority.
The experience gained has highlighted the need to combine the classic “vertical” approach, based on proven specific sectoral knowledge of each Cluster, with a new way of dealing with innovation that creates added value through the contamination and integration of transversal competences.

TIPPS PROJECT

THE COLLABORATION AMONG CLUSTERS

The TIPPS project -Transition and Innovation with the Piemonte Clusters’ System (Transizione e Innovazione con I Poli Piemontesi a Sistema)- co-financed by the Piemonte Regional Authority through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) 2014/20 has supported the formalisation in 2022 of the collaboration among the 7 Regional Clusters. The TIPPS project has enabled the creation of a common action programme, in which all the Clusters work for the System itself as well as on 3 main transversal transitions:

GREEN TRANSITION

 CLEVER, CGreen and Pointex

DIGITAL TRANSITION

Engaging local companies in activities linked to collaborative research&innovation (R&I).

Strenghtening the connections with the academic, training and research world and, more in general, with external thematic networks at all levels.
