The PROMESSO project (Process Using Solvent-Free Extraction) aims to develop an innovative integrated plant focused on formulating health-oriented products with high added value from plant matrices and waste materials from the agri-food industry.
The high-efficiency “green” technologies, tested on a laboratory scale at the University of Turin, enable extraction in water without the addition of hazardous or toxic solvents for the environment and humans.
As part of the project, in parallel with the design and construction of an integrated extraction plant, research has been conducted on new formulations of nutraceutical products using extracts obtained without the use of organic solvents.
The project benefits from the technical, patent, commercial, and formulation expertise of UNITO, GIEMME, and ALPIFLOR.

Perché è importante?

The goal is to develop a “Made in Piemonte” reality focused on manufacturing, technology, research, and innovation in food products and processes. An additional objective of this collaboration among the partners is to validate a synergy that involves other local companies in the process technology supply chain and the development of new products.
