The Polo AGRIFOOD of Piedmont region, established in the form of temporary association of purpose of which M.I.A.C. Scpa is the managing entity, it is an aggregation of large companies and SMEs, universities, research institutions, laboratories, and Piedmonts associations, with the mission of creating a network between all the local stakeholders to promote innovation and competitiveness in the agro-industrial sector.
The Cluster assists its members in accessing national and international networks, tenders and funding measures, and encouraging the direct participation of companies in collaborative research, development, and innovation projects and in partnerships at regional and extra-regional level.
M.I.A.C has some demonstration laboratories on innovative technologies tied to the food sector in terms of traceability, food safety,  product/process innovation, packaging and shelf life study, available to the Cluster members.
In collaboration with accredited bodies, training sessions are also organized on the topics of sustainability, quality management and food safety.
Representing the Piedmonts Polo AGRIFOOD, M.I.A.C. is a member of the Agrifood National Cluster CLAN

ROLE WITHIN SISTEMA POLI

The AGRIFOOD Cluster promotes the exchange of knowledge and skills and technology transfer in the food sector, with a focus on the following thematic areas:

  • TRACK TO MARKET: innovation aimed at improving the distinctiveness, protection, origin and traceability, logistics of food products within the entire production process.
  • FOOD CORE: innovations related to the control of food safety, transformation and packaging processes and the development of innovative food products with high added value.
  • FOOD SUSTAINABILITY: Virtuous management of food production, recovery, and valorisation of waste from the agri-food chains.
  • FARM OF THE FUTURE: Precision agriculture and innovation in agricultural machinery.
