Proplast makes its new Open Lab and the “FUTURO” Conference Room available as a hub for innovation.

Proplast, co-manager of the Polo CGreen, inaugurated on October 28 two new strategic spaces dedicated to strengthening innovation across the region: a new Open Lab and the “FUTURO” Conference Room.

The inauguration took place in the presence of key institutional representatives, including Giovanni Amateis, Head of the University System, Right to Education, Research and Innovation Department of the Regione Piemonte; Giorgio Abonante, Mayor of Alessandria; and Renzo Gatti, Director of Confindustria Alessandria-Asti, alongside numerous members and representatives from the industrial sector.

These new facilities have been designed to become a reference hub for companies, researchers, and professionals working in sustainability, recycling, and circular economy.

An Open Lab Serving Industry and Research

The new Open Lab has been created to support experimental activities within the regional ecosystem, fostering collaboration between companies, research organizations, and training institutions.

The facility enables activities in:

• Research on polymer materials and processing technologies

• Treatment of biomaterials and post-consumer polymer waste for the characterization of new recycled formulations and their reuse as secondary raw materials, in line with RecyClass protocols, with dedicated washing and recycling transformation equipment

• Assessment of processability and sample production for new materials for injection molding, extrusion, and film applications, including cast and blown film extrusion lines

• Development of Proof of Concept (PoC) activities within specific and/or funded projects aimed at validating innovative technological solutions.

The “FUTURO” Conference Room

Alongside the Open Lab, Proplast has launched the new “FUTURO” Conference Room, a space dedicated to technical events, seminars, and technology transfer initiatives.
The room is designed to facilitate dialogue between companies, researchers, and innovation stakeholders, supporting knowledge dissemination and the sharing of best practices.
